What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 461

Hello again. I'm a little bit late and technically it's Thursday but here we go for WOYWW. Today Little Miss wanted to play with the XCut Xpress. I cut her a piece of pizza base foam to fit and told her to use a pencil to carve an image into it, which she did and then we went out to the garage (what I call my workshop when I remember not to call it the garage) and she rollered out some acrylic paint and set to...

She was a bit disappointed with her print not coming out to clear but liked the process, she also took a mono print off of the left over paint. I've said that tomorrow we can dig out the gelli plate for a play.

In the meantime we found some lino, she drew out her design again and, after my initial little safety pep talk (solely from personal self injury experience) she set to carving her very first lino tile all by herself. We are going to put it through the XCut Xpress again tomorrow. She's very excited.

Chocolate, music and print. Yep, she's definitely mine!

So that's my work space today - been taken over by a little apprentice. I'm now going to pop over to Julia at Stamping Ground to link up - follow me over. There will be many more creative work spaces to have a little peep and rifle through.

To everyone who was so lovely last week and asking to see my direct animation when it's done. I definitely will show it. They are all due for hand in on the 9th of May and I'm assuming (hoping) they will tell us how to view them before then.

Thank you for stopping by today :)

  2. Wow, way to go! As you say, definitely yours :-D. Good for you for letting her do the Lino cutting by herself - we used to let the Y6 kids do allsorts, having given them the safety pep talk beforehand....knife skills in cooking, using secateurs in gardening club, they did really well and learned loads.

  5. Well technically I’m even later - Thursday tea time! How marvellous to see your little (but OMG growing up and SO like you) Ruby getting her mojo on, Love these photos! Had to giggle about the garage workshop....Bart has a workshop that we refer to as ‘the shed’ and his poor mum thinks it does us no good in terms of business reputation!!

  10. Hi again Carmen. Have just popped over to Julia's site and saw that you are tempted by the Llandudno crop. It would be so lovely to have you visit North Wales in September. It's a great fun day - noise, cake, chatter, cake, a bit of crafting, cake, lunch together, cake, tea and coffee, cake... you get the picture? Folk are lovely - huge senses of humour get exhibited during the day! Much laughter, much fun. The noise level is pretty phenomenal! You leave knowing you have met with some real friends. As I'm sure you know, Llandudno is a huge tourist venue - so there are some great places to stay - hotels, B&Bs, guest houses, Premier Inns.... A lot make it a real holiday and simply take out the one day to come for the crop. Do hope you can make it.
    Take care. God bless.

  11. So lovely to see you encouraging Little Miss in this way - she is clearly as creative as you are and obviously absorbed in what she is doing and loving it! What lovely photos. I am with you both as far as the chocolate is concerned lol!! Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving such a wonderful comment - well done indeedy managing to read through all that lot! Quite a marathon. Yes, it was a pretty awful experience and I'm glad it's over now and I am definitely better these last couple of days, but still very tired. My eyesight and concentration are now much improved as the anaesthetic and morphine gradually work their way out of my system. I thought I should do that blog post while it was fresh in my mind but until yesterday I really didn't feel up to doing anything much.

You mentioned the brushos, they are little crystals (powder) and react like magic to water. Such fun. I noticed you were tempted by 'The WOYWW Crop'I went last year for the first time it was so much fun and everyone is so lovely and friendly. I am hoping I might go again this year. Anne x #15
