WOYWW - The First Time in Forever...

Apologies if the title gave you an ear-worm (Not really - secretly hoping it did!)

Greetings fair travellers of Blogland. I'm guessing if you have landed on my page today it is for one reason and one reason only. To rummage. It's been so long since I've taken part in What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday that most of you probably wont know me. I'm Carmen aka whoopidoo - I have two desks on the go (three if I can get away with the dinner table and four in September when I head off to uni) But for now I have the workdesk in my bedroom for when it's to hot/cold/can't be arsed to go outside and my workshop desk... Recently acquired when I took over the back of the garage.

This is said workshop desk...
This morning...
No room to play...
After much tidying...
All messed up again
It's so hot out there at the moment, ridiculously hot. Like, you're having a flaming giraffe, kind of hot. Stupid weather. So I think I deserve some kind of reward for tidying it all up and messing it up again don't you? The top pictures are some discarded imperfect lino prints which will be used in collage and in the bottom picture I have moved on to building up some texture layers for a canvas base.

Any questions please feel free to ask in the comments. I'm off to link up with Julia and then will be popping by your desks.
Thanks for stopping by today :)

  1. That's the best thing about tidying up, you have some space to mess up again. Welcome back; don't let the heat get you down lol. Sarah #28

  2. Woohoo, she's back!! So great to see you on the desks again 😊 Your space is a game of two halves today, very messy or extremely neat! My eye was caught by those prints in the first pic, am liking those very much 💖
Hope you and the family are ok,

  3. Hurrah to see you back with all your desks - that's just showing off you know... I am SO glad that today is (supposedly) the last day of this totally dreadful weather... don't know how some people can enjoy it, I really don't... just how few clothes is decent to go out in, anyway??? 4. Hi Carmen!
Welcome back. Did you do the drawing in your first picture? It's so intricate!! Also, I'm wondering what is in the cage to the left??

One of these weeks I'll take a proper photo of my bookshelf - just for you! I love books too!!! As you'll notice, I'm sure.

    Thanks for visiting me already!

    1. I did Kay - they are prints from a large lino print I carved. It took forever buut I was so chuffed with the end result - it was my final piece for an Access to Education course I did last year. The cage is an empty aviary. MY OH used to keep canaries but they are re-homed at his Mums.

  6. Welcome back. I'm coming back after a very long absence. It sure doesn't take long to mess everything up again. But I don't think I will get mine cleaned up as quickly! Lol.

    Have a great day!

  8. Hi Carmen, lovely to meet you. I saw dragons! lol. They instantly caught my eye. We are very fond of dragons here. :) Great to have a choice of desks, I agree. When we redid my craft room, I had IKEA tables along two walls, a workdesk proper, and another for my cutting station. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #9 XxX

  11. Yep I think you need a reward in this heat, I've not done anything much crafty unless absolutely necessary! Funny thing about the grey hair being the "in" thing isn't it! What are you going to study at uni then, can I assume a mature student? My son should be going to uni in September too, scary. Thanks for the visit BJ#5

  12. Lovely creative space, Carmen. I'm all for tidying up... and then messing it all up again lol! Love the mess you have made. That collage looks amazing! I am glad it's cooler today - I don't cope well with the heat and can't get anything done! Thank you for your lovely comment and your kind words about our poor kitties. Yes, I think of them gamboling about up in heaven, having the best time ever. Our little adverts will have arrived at their destinations by now so we hope they bear some fruit, and that our present sad kitty-less state will soon be remedied. The place feels incomplete without them.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  17. Hi Carmen! Lovely to see you again! I spy with my little eye, one of those little Ikea trolleys that I've been coveting like for ever! First, I need some space to put it! Would love to see what you do with that canvas - perhaps you can show us next week! Thanks for stopping by! Sorry I couldn't visit earlier - the internet gremlins were against me! I hope you're enjoying the cooler temperatures! zsuzsa #25

  18. Your dragon-bunny looks awesome! I love lino drawings! Lovely work space you have, very organized! I am intrigued by the texture build up on the canvas - interested in seeing where it is going!
My journal that you commented on isn't exactly full, but I went and crunched up each page so that the crunched up pages (flattened out) makes the journal look so full! Thanks for your earlier visit, Lindart #42
