Merry Christmas

I'm dropping by to apologise for the lack of crafting and posting this past couple of weeks. It's been a busy time for many reasons here not least for the main one we are all bustling about over.

I hope you all know how much you've come to mean to me this year. I've made some wonderful new friends via this blog and yours. I'll never be able to convey how much you all mean to me and how you've helped me through a couple of tough times this year that for various reasons I haven't been able to publicly share. Thank you, all of you.

I'd like to leave you with one of my favourite Christmas songs - it may not be one you would expect from me but I love it. THIS is Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Merry Metal Christmas!

Good evening Bloggers :) I hope your festivities are coming along nicely and are not as panic laden as ours are becoming! I thought I would share an early pre-Christmas present I stumbled upon this evening that I thought some, if not all, of you might like :)

Simply click the image below to be taken to a link for a free download of the full album of Merry Metal Christmas :D Over 2 hours of music! Whoo! Enjoy!

The Day Cometh And The Man... He Did ROCK!

I wont bore you all, I've been flying high all day and think I am liable to get slapped if I gush any more. I will just say - the man is a living legend. He didn't stop... except when they beheaded him, hung him, stabbed him... you get the drift ;) He just gets better and better and better and BETTER! I love and adore him more than ever.

Pictures a plenty... no apologies.

He's behind you!!!
Yep, that's a grinder. And that is sparks. And she is doing that to herself!
Vengeance is MINE!Alas poor Yorick... *chortle*
Phoebes face when he stood up after being beheaded! Huh?? Magic!Alice teddies!!Thanks for bearing with me the past few days. I will now try and calm myself...

...until next time ;)

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I Love Ya Tomorrow...

... it's only a day aWAAAAAAYYYY!

I can't settle today. No use me trying. No way, no how. So thought I would post some random Alice bits I've made in the past in homage to the  man I'm going to see tomorrow. I've probably posted some of them before but tough I says! Have I mentioned that I'm going to see him tomorrow? I am you know. I really am!
Whoopidooings - Carmen Wing - Alice Cooper in Lyra Aqua Colour CrayonsWhoopidooings - Carmen Wing - Alice Cooper in Lyra Aqua Colour Crayons I made a set of three of these as a Christmas present for my sister one year, they turned out quite big and I ended up framing each one in an A4 frame. They were made with Lyra Aquacolour watercolour crayons. Love those things - so messy.
Whoopidooings - Carmen Wing - Alice Cooper ATC
This was the very first ATC I ever made. *blush* It went to a friend in a Secret Santa swap.
Whoopidooings - Carmen Wing - Alice Cooper ATC
Another ATC, made a year or so later. This one was made with watercolour crayons and some heat embossing.
Whoopidooings - Carmen Wing - Alice Cooper in Mixed MediaOne of my favourite things I've made. I've still not decided what it is yet. I had made it for a raffle and it ended up not going - that's the only time I've ever done that! Naughty, naughty. I did make something else to send - I'm not that bad.

I used a load of  distress inks, heat embossing, tons of watercolour crayons and the wings are rub-ons. This is what the ATC above was based on - bet you never would have guessed!

Have fun today, I am being forced to physically go Christmas shopping in an actual shopping center. Bah Humbug! I had done so well getting it all online so far!

Thank you as always for stopping by.

p.s Annie title in an Alice Cooper post? Are you impressed? I bet he would be :D

W(N)OYWW

Yep in case you hadn't guessed the 'N' stands for What's NOT On Your Workdesk Wednesday. My desk is disgustingly clear of all crafting materials and just holds a cuppa and my Christmas list. Ruby and I are rocking it with Alice today as we do the Christmas shopping. She is now completely nekked after strutting round like Mick Jagger and stripping in time to Alice! I'm torn between being worried and being supremely proud!

Fear not crafting buddies, I'll be making my cracker for a Christmas Cracker swap later so I'll edit my post with a workdesk picture then.

In the meantime let me just say...

4 DAYS TO GOOOO! WHOOOOOO!I'll be popping by your desks later, I'll try and remember to turn the music down. If you want to play along and nosy at other peoples desks and creations in progress, make sure and link up with Julia so we can all find you too.

Bye!

edit:
Tadaaaaa! No cracker I'm afraid. I've been sidetracked with wrapping parcels *mutter, mutter* Being a crafter, why don't I enjoy this more? Could it be the little helper trying to unwrap twice as fast as I'm wrapping while multitasking on my pc and trying to delete all my files? Just maybe :)

Christmas Angels

This is my entry into the Fiskarettes December competition which is on the subject of Christmas. I had bought a packet of 10 little wooden angels in Tesco for £1 with the intention of turning them into family angels so was very pleased that they would fit into this competition category as well.Apologies for the pictures. I've tried every which way to get a decent photo of my angels but where I went glitter and Glossy Accent bonkers... it's kinda not happened. How pleased does my Dad look to be an angel eh?  He'll kill me for putting this on here!My wonderful Mum - this one's staying out all year.

I think they are a stroke of genius personally and love them to bits. I do know they will appeal to no-one else but me... though they do look amazing in real life. They crack me up every time I look at them. Can't wait to put them on the tree. They were so easy to make too, using just bits out of my scrap box and some photos - Thanks for the use of the printer Dad - little did he know! Mwahahahar!

Thank you for stopping by and humouring me as always :)

Countdown is progressing...

This time next week the bucket of mascara and eyeliner will be being caked on in preperation for this man...
Isn't he pretty? We have amazing seats, thanks to me being a drooling member of the fan site, we got a weeks advance dibs on the tickets. So as soon as the lines opened good old sis, who had been camping out on the college computers - fighting off the crazed art students with her sharpened pencil - got front row seats on the balcony at Hammersmith Apollo! Wooohooo!

One week, one week, one weeeeeek to go!

Labyrinth Film Swap ~ Sent

Amost a month late to the day my Labyrinth makes have made their way to my swapee Megan. She has been so gracious and lovely in her wait I wouldn't blame her if she was turning the air blue. But when the Mojo abandons you - there ain't no tempting it out of it's hiding place. However - Mojo is back and this is what I sent Megan.

First of all I scratched all the dodgy painted frames off of this glass coaster set. Oh boy did that take forever and it stuck to everything, if I got an itch I ended up looking like I had a serious skin complaint - I had flakes stuck everywhere.I then rubbed down the holder and covered it in some Once Upon A Time paper and glossy accents. Each coaster then had the various images I had made up adhered to the back, also with Glossy Accents.Whoopidooings - Carmen Wing - Altered coasters - Labyrinth

Whoopidooings - Carmen Wing - Altered coasters - Labyrinth This black and white one is Devons favourite - you can't really tell in this photo but it is accented with glitter on Sarahs hair and jewellery and Jareths coat.
Whoopidooings - Carmen Wing - Altered coasters - Labyrinth This one I attached an ATC sized picture to the back. The stamp is a Tim Holtz one. Then picked the tree, birds and clock out with fineliner pen and then accented the clock a bit more with glitter. The background is distress ink.
Whoopidooings - Carmen Wing - Altered coasters - Labyrinth The box the coasters came in I covered with the DCWV Once Upon A Time papers as well and glittered the edges.I really love this set, I didn't want to send them in the end and wish I had picked up more of these coasters when I had the chance. Always the way.

I also made this picture using the Andrea Mosaic program recommended on Mary-Anne's blogWhoopidooings - Carmen Wing - Labyrinth - Goblin King MosaicPlease excuse the awful picture, no matter which way I tried I couldn't get a decent one without a massive amount of shine. That'll teach me to go Glossy Accent-tastic!

It's so effective in real life, the most time consuming part was spending a couple of days finding enough Labyrinth pictures to form the random enough mosaic effect that I was after. The frame was a mock wood effect so I inked that with several layers of black Stazon ink, added the quote and did the accenting all over. It originally had glass in it but for some reason once I finished all the accenting, it wouldn't fit back and smashed when I... ahem... applied a little pressure. My first crafting injury! I like the effect better with acetate and padding as it happens so the little bit of blood was worth it.

I also included some beautiful buttons that for me, symbolised the crystal in the film and some rather gorgeous fairy cut outs. Plus the obligatory bag of sweeties. Which I neglected to photo... no matter.

My DCWV stack that I have cherished and stroked for a good couple of years is now severely depleted but I think I waited for the right project to use it on. Saying that, if I see another stack it will be coming home with me. I still love the papers after all this time.

Thank you, as always, for stopping by.

Alice Cooper Angel

When I first spied Green Pixeys Angel immediately one man came to mind. So I contacted the lovely Ewa and she worked her magic...

Look who fluttered through my door this morning. I love him to bits!

Isn't he amazing? Isn't Ewa amazing? Now I have a little Alice Angel on my shelf watching over me as I work... he will be leaving me over the Christmas period to grace our black Christmas tree. He is very lucky as I usually only allow gold stars and red garlands on my tree but I think he's worth it, don't you?

Thank you Ewa :)
