WOYWW - My First of 2015

Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening fellow Deskers.   February already and this is the first time I've taken part since last year! Naughty!

On my inside desk today you can see a cheeky little helper who wasted no time in climbing into my vacated seat. A pile of papers which is actually my Maths homework (newbie visitors - I'm taking my Maths GCSE at 37! Algebra is a plaything of the Devil, it has to be said!) And you might be able to see a postcard on top of it all - that's the start of my Twitter Art Exhibit piece. I need to get a move on with that!

And outside in the Shedio. Well. It's just a disaster zone really. I tidied up a few weeks ago and since then it's just been to cold to get out there so I bring stuff indoors. Then my long suffering, ever despairing partner tidies up after me and it all gets shoved back out on my desk. Honestly. Look what he did. Does he not know the house is meant to be an extension of my play area?

So that's me this week. If you fancy joining in with the global phenomenon that is What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday - be sure and hop along to Julia's to link up and find everyone else. There be much snoopy snoopiness to enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by today :)

  2. I'm not a big math fan myself, but I really like algebra! It just makes sense to me. Hoping it goes smoothly for you too. Have a great week & God bless!

    Happy Crafting!

  3. Yep...uh-huh.....my desk has trolls living under it that get antsy and bitey if they hear my tidying hands trip-trapping over it. I do not like bitey mythical creatures savaging my ankles so my desk is a heap of mess, or "projects", as I indulgently call them. That's my very well thought out and reasonable excuse and I'm sticking to it like an idiot's tongue hilariously sticks to an icy metal lamp-post. ( I actually saw that one and nearly actually killed myself laughing) (and pointing.....laughing and pointing)

  4. You see, Craig has probably just left it in a heap because if he attempted to put it away, inevitably he'd not get it right!! Though I admit, it would drive me potty too :-). Logey Bear looks as if he's enjoying 'helping' you!
Well done for doing the Algebra, even though you hate it....I loved it when I was at school, I just got it! I'm excited for you with your Uni aims. You'll be brilliant!

  5. Lovely to see your desk(s) again, and how gorgeous is Logey looking!! I don't get maths at all, so I am so impressed.. Hope it warms up soon (but not too much, I know you won't like that either!) so you can get back to the shed - but don't let Craig see my dining room will you... yes, it takes over the house!) 6. That is one busy looking desk. I'm thankful to have my own space that nobody would dare to rearrange for me. :-)

Thanks for the visit to my blog earlier and for the kind words.

    Happy creating and happy woyww,

    1. I LOVE Marmite Janet - I detailed my obsession here: http://whoopidooings.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/the-collector.html I was really lucky when we went to Scotland last time, we found a shop selling the gold ones for £1.50 a pot - I came back with my suitcase FULL! :P

  8. Shedio, LOL, love it! It must be freezing there at this time of year - I don't blame you for wanting to play in the house. I've pretty much claimed every conceivable surface and storage area in my house too. Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #34

  9. Hi Carmen, thanks for visiting my space, I do feel for you all in the cold climes and not being able to get at my stuff would be one unhappy lady...suppose I have my hubby trained after 38 years and he just walks around my stuff when I expand to the other rooms. Cheers and happy WOYWW RobynO#20

  14. My hubby has given different rooms numbers, and when he feels like cleaning, he throws his "cleaning dice" and goes to clear out some area that doesn't get normal weekly attention. This is of course cool, I love that he is neat(er than me) but just last week he threatened that if he gets a "1" he'll empty some of my drawers and claim them for himself... To be seen if he dares! Thanks for the visit earlier, happy WOYWW!

  15. Well he could at least get you some little baskets to put things in and sort it all for you, so men can never be trained. Love the messy cough, sorry artistic arrangement. Have a great week and thanks for visiting already.

  17. What a cute little helper you have there! I've been trying to convince everyone for years that it's biologically impossible to be arty and good at maths!! Good for you doing your GCSE, I don't envy you though!
Thanks so much for stopping by my desk earlier, I hope you have a great week,

  18. Ooooh, there is SO much to love about this! I LOVE seeing your mess, really. It makes me feel so much better about myself, ha! AND I LOVE your little helper too - where can I get one of those for my studio?? :) xoxo

  19. Thanks for the visit Carmen, love your little helper. I think it's got to be good to keep your brain active but not sure I would choose Maths but if it's your thing then that's great. Your desk in the Shedio isn't so bad really, at least you know where everything is, even if you can't find them instantly but then neither can I Lol!

  24. Mmmmm - Marmite......

I've got a sneaking suspicion I've not been by your blog before, but maybe I have. The Alice Cooper loving comment on your profile top right has piqued my curiosity. THE Alice Cooper? Golf Club swinging, eyeliner toting rock god? Right on lady! If not - if there is some other odd lady out there called Alice Cooper, I guess she may be getting mighty fed up with people mistaking her for someone else now.... LOL

Don't blame you for not wanting to go out into the cold....tis a tad brrrrrrrr.......

    Thanks for stopping by!

  26. Thanks for your visit, Carmen. It has been very cold here, and we have had several days of snow. Today the sun is shining and the snow has stopped. The temp is -16C, and negligible wind chill, so somewhat better. We Canadians are a hardy bunch, :) , and we LOVE to complain about the weather! It's a winter sport. Ha! Good for you for doing math courses. Ugh! just the word makes me cringe.........

  30. I don't think the house should be an extension of your play area; it should BE your play area. I mean we don't want you to get frost bite! I love that little fold up secretary desk you have for your computer. I would love something like that for my computer but instead I have this large multi-shelved thing (that I've stuffed full of stuff so quit dreaming small, Judy). As for your craft desk it has lots of fun things on it to play. Just grab up a handful and run into the house and have a go with it. It will make you forget the algebra exists. Thanks for the visit earlier. I emailed you the answer to your question. Judy #79

  32. Love the idea of a shedio, Carmen, and especially the idea of the house being an extension of your creative space! Lol! As for the maths, you're welcome to it. I never could get my head round maths and got 6% for a maths exam once! Thank you for your visit to my blog and for your very kind comment about my absent Mr. Mojo! I had some good news today, that the scan reveals that the cancer has not spread beyond the bowel. I still have to have surgery but they anticipate that it will deal with the problem. I may have to have some chemo afterwards just to make sure it doesn't come back. A great relief, but I am now feeling too exhausted to do anything creative!

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  34. My DH gets testy when my studio expands into the living room too! LOL! Clearly they just don't understand that one's entire home is studio potential given the right circumstances :D Thank you for popping over to my blog this week and leaving a comment too!
Hugs for now and stay warm!!! We are getting hit with back to back snow storms this winter and my plowing bill is mounting exponentially! EEEk!

  37. Hello, hello welcome back. My little helper turned 10 this week where does time go eh? I really must start my postcard and get it sent out before I leave for Arizona. I still can't decide what to do on it. Thanks for your visit earlier Anita.

  38. It's never to late to further your education. I earned my masters in my 30's, and now that I'm in my 50's, I'm working on my education administrator's certification courses. It sounds like you may have to use a box or something to use as a portable art studio to use indoors until the cold weather eases off. It was good to see you again. Blessings!

  39. I love the idea of having a space of my own, like your shedio. It's been below freezing all week here, so I'd be staying indoors too! Thanks for stopping by.

  41. Maybe you should get your other half to go and stay in the cold shed for a while and then he might let you take over the house more often:) I'm slowly taking over our spare lounge room as well as my studio. Maths (eewww), I'm married to a maths teacher and he works everything out for me. That way I don't waste brain power on that boring stuff. Good luck with it, you are very brave. Have a great week and thanks for your visit.

  42. Hi there. Thanks for visiting and for your comments. SOOooo relieved I am not the only person visiting late into the week.
Our friends set off around the world yesterday, so don't know if they took the journal with them, or whether they will fill it in when they arrive home three months later!!! Yes - three months! Offered to carry their suitcase - but they said "No thanks". Huh!!! Currently visiting Istanbul, then trekking in Nepal - I mean to say, just think what a tremendous help I could have been to them???!!!
Love the idea of your shedio - but can imagine it being extremely cold at the mo. The house really is the only answer.... Great little helper you have there!
    Take care. God bless.

  43. Thanks for visiting my blog. I so hear you on the extension, Carmen. Bless Bob for his understanding while we are in transition between my dungeon downstairs and the new studio in progress. FYI... I got to fold up the ironing board last night and put it away. Have fun with that math homework. I could not get Algebra. In HS I transfered out into business math. LOL Creative Blessings! 46. Love this! I have such trouble keeping up with my own blog http://birchvalleystudio.blogspot.se and I know exactly what you mean about the 'double posting' feelings (referencing your fb post ;) ) and if it's worth it. I started with fb first, and then created a blog, so my fb page is more my home, though I would like to really expand my following on my blog and make it something I can be proud of sharing. My crafty space is in our 'dining room' right now (with two kitty helpers and one puppy that 'thinks' he's a cat. ;) ) but I'm hoping to reno the 'guest house' out in the yard to my studio/shedio in the spring. I definitely think I'll start a WOYWW string of posts on my page, since it's so fun to snoop other's desks, and I now know I'm not the only one. ;) HUGE hugs and many thanks! <3 Martha
