What's On My Workdesk, Wednesday...

...Everything but the kitchen sink, that's what!
Whoopidooings: What's On My Workdesk Wednesday, WOYWW
I'm hoping this picture spurs me into getting organised again. That was my word for the year. I started off well but this latter part of the year has kind of seen me, erm, wobble off track a bit.

I've felt a general, fingers are not holding on, everything is getting out of control, what's happening feeling, for a while now. Ever get that? That there image of my desk is a pretty good representation of my brain at the moment. So, first things first. Tidy that damn desk.

It's a start ;)

I'll be popping by as many desks as I can this week. I have really missed WOYWW. Really missed it.
If you'd like to do a bit of desk, floor, counter, shedio hopping - be sure to swing by Julia's for the full list.
Thanks for stopping by today :)

  2. That desk def needs a visit from the 'tidy up' fairy :-) .....if only to give you a 6" space to actually do some crafting in ;-)

  4. I used to have a boss who would torture me with the saying "tidy desk, tidy mind"..but you know what? I think a desk with stuff on it shows you are busy. After all, this boss used to tidy her desk by passing all her jobs onto me! So a desk with stuff on it looks good to me

  8. I just have to laugh because this is how my desk looks half the time! I just think it can't be avoided when you're being creative. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #57

  9. Yikes... ok, yes, the desk needs a sort out, that would be overwhelming and stressful, which is how you sound, so a quick sort out and clear some space and maybe the brain will follow suit? Annette #31

  10. I agree with you that the state of the desk usually resembles the state of the brain when it is chaotic. I don't necessarily believe that my brain has ever been as tidy as my desk is.... LOL! Great gobs of mess on your desk. I hope you get it sorted out soon. Sometimes the sorting really sparks your creativity and gets you going. Judy #73

  11. I am not one to lecture, as I don't work tidy (as you know!) but I do work hard, so I don't buy the 'tidy desk tidy mind' philosophy - but your poor desk does look a little dumped on!! Hope you manage to make some space on it to play and work later! Helen 3 - oh, and welcome back!!

  12. Ah bless you hun, I always say that the house represents my state of mind - so I get where you are coming from. The easiest way to tackle it is a bit at a time. I spy scissors, just set your mind to tidy all scissors, then walk away, come back later and decide on the next 'bit' then do the same with your mind. If you have too much on your mind sit and write a list, don't worry about it making sense, just write, then once you've written identify what you can do something about and what you can't. With those you can't put them to one side and then start tackling the rest bit by bit! You can do it!

  13. I get this! I always mean to be tidy but things have habits of piling up don't they? Our cinema visits are usually on Wednesdays as hubby gets a free ticket with his phone (Orange Wednesdays)- plus we go to an Odeon which gives loyalty points hence enough to have a free trip last Friday! Thanks for visiting, Chris 50

  14. Hi Carmen, welcome! Virginia's got the right idea, I reckon - just do a corner at a time, or put stuff in piles, ready for storing. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how quickly it gets sorted - I usually am (grin!) Whatever, enjoy and don't beat yourself up over it. I often have the sensation of things being just outside of my control - very frustrating but, if I try too hard, it slips away still further. Take heart, you're in good company. Hugs, Chris # 7

  15. To be honest my desk looks never tidy, because I always have some work in progress on it! To me that desk doesn't say clear me up it says play with me and have fun!

  16. I think Virginia's suggestion is the best, break it down into manageable chunks. Don't keep too much junk, streamline your supplies...I find that I make better things when I have less to make it with!

  17. Hehehe I think the maths has got to you - the desk if crying out to be played with :) My desk is never tidy as there's always something going on. I may one day show the whole of my desk and not just the bit I work on :D Thank you for popping over to visit and your lovely comment. I also have some Carmen eye candy on my wall :) Anita #55

  18. I can relate to your desk, because mine is as messy and green as yours. Sometimes you just have to create, even if you don't have time to organize between projects. Blessings!

  20. Next stop: the floor! Better a messy busy desk than an empty one with nothing going on! I like your Marmite pots on the shelf, and I spy a great stencil under the debris.
Thanks for letting me look over your shoulder,
    Have a good week,
Sorry I'm late but I take my time going through them all. (I really enjoy reading all the blogs and looking at the photos)

  23. It is indeed a messy desk Carmen, but do I see awesome collage-pictures there? (the 'blue face'...) I think I'd get those out and make a collage instead of cleaning... but whatever you decide to start with: enjoy! Happy (much belated) woyww and a hug from Holland, Marit #62

  24. My desk is a bit boring compared to yours!!

  25. That's just a busy desk, Carmen, but perhaps you need to clear a little space in the middle for some creativity.
Sorry I am so late returning your visit, some how the time just flies by, but thanks for taking the time to snoop at my desk.

  26. Clean is over-rated :) And oh you did make me smile with the Calvin and Hobbes cartoon. I do miss seeing them every day in the paper.
Number only verification has returned so I'm jumping on it!

Happy (late but determined to finish) WOYWW!
