I don't know why but I have a good feeling about 2012. In no way am I forgetting the ending to last year or the people lost over the previous 5 or 6 years. But looking ahead - I am feeling a change in the way I think. This quote pretty much sums it up. So, I'm not joining in with picking a word this year. I'm going to remember that quote instead. I'm going to roll with this... almost thunderbolt feeling that I've got at the moment. That this is it! You know? This life, this is it. Only I can make myself happy, the people around me can help, sure, but ultimately only I can make the changes, be the person I want to be. If one path becomes blocked I have to find another and not just give up. How can I inspire my girls to follow their dreams when their mother isn't?

You are great, i enjoy your blog and how you view life, stay as strong as you are and be true to you, your girl certainly have an excellent example to follow!
ReplyDeleteGood for you Carmen! One of my favourite Shakespeare quotes is "there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so." [OK, so Hamlet was using it to explain why he felt like he was in a prison ... but bear with me ...] but I always think it shows the power of the mind to change situations. 2012 *is* going to be great for you ... because you've decided it is! Woo!
ReplyDelete:-D
Super quote Carmen..one we should all reflect on.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I'll love the new Carmen just as much as I love the old one.

ReplyDeleteThat what you say is true. Sometimes I (half-jokingly) say to my boys 'Do what I say, not what I do' but they take it all in, not just what I want them too... Happy New Year x
