I am late uploading for WOYWW I know. Been a day of running here there and everywhere but here I am with just under an hour of Wednesday left.
This is my desk as it was this afternoon - half way through a mass clear-up. I could not stand the pitiful looks and deep sighs coming from the table behind me a moment longer. So I decided to tidy up before a huuuuuge Alice in Wonderland craft sesh this weekend. He thinks he knows messy? Little does he know. Mwahahahar!
I haven't uploaded a scrapbook page in a while but when The Creative Type prompt went up earlier, taking inspiration from comic books, I instantly thought of the page I did of Phoebe a while back. Out of the blue she turned to me one day and asked "what dinosaurs were around when you were young Mum?" Talk about deflate a persons ego. And so this page was born. Thought I would be cheeky and enter it into the challenge.
This is one of those recycled pages, cardboard, paint, pages from a book that Ruby had mutilated, the tree images are from a sugar packet, the dinosaur is from an old babygro, the stamping is bubble wrap smothered in paint and parts of it embossed. You know - a really fun, messy page. Thanks for popping by and if you fancy seeing some more desks and having a rummage go visit our fearless leader Julia and link up so we can all find you :)
hahahahahahaha dinosaurs...
ReplyDeleteLove the layout, I need to start using bubble wrap, love that effect! And she is a doll by the way!
Oh Come on!!!! that's not messy!!! i've seen you swamped in far more glue and paint and GA than that before you've tidied before ;) that LO is really nice I love stamping with bubble wrap and that Dino is super cute!!! FAB title as well!!!

Love the bubble wrap effect and what a lovely photo :-) My kids use to laugh when they did Victorian times at school because, although not quite that old, I could still remember having a bath in front of the fire and going outside to the loo [and I'm only 52!].
ReplyDeleteSo dinosaurs?.... Not quite but nearly :-)
A x
Great LO, right up there for the Creative Type challenge! I've been asked if we had electricity when I was little..only once though! Am feeling sorry for Craig - am thinking he won't know what's happened after your AinW work starts!!

Great page, Carmen.. love the cheeky photo and how you've used bubble wrap and the newsprint title! Think you've just inspired me to enter a comic-book style LO I did a while ago too for this challenge ;o)
ReplyDeletelove the cherry ribbon!! And is that an angel I spy hanging from the monitor? ;-)
ReplyDeleteit looks like you had loads of fun making that page Carmen. Plus I don't think your desk looks messy at all... looks busy!!!

Christine x
Just popped by on another matter and found I had not left a comment after reading this last night. Love your messy page ...the letters are such fun and are so right for the LO as is the bubble wrap stamping ....I really dont get my hands messy enough lol
ReplyDeleteThe other matter ...sex of baby .... aparently they have loads of signs saying 'Dont Ask' ... yet here in Fife they tell you. I think they must have been sued a few times and are playing safe. Boys have been known to hide their manhood between their legs and it would be a shock to enter the world only to find you have.... a PINK boudoir LOL
he page is fab hun and if Craig thinks that is messy ... just show him mine :0)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend Alice crafting ... I am off to see ... erm ... TIM HOLTZ :0)
