Don't Try This At Home Folks

So Craig is at work. Time to get out the Christmas present he got me last year. Don't get me wrong I love my DS dearly apart from one tiny little thing...It's pink!

So after a quick rub down to get any grubby fingerprints off I set about attacking the outside with alcohol inks. Copious amounts of alcohol inks. Ooodles and oodles of alcohol inks. The result being...Yes. Well. I think we can safely say after my many, many failed project attempts with this stuff and after much consideration they are, perhaps, not for me.

Thank blimming goodness it's easily removable with a little (lot) of alcohol blending solution.Phew! And yes I've checked it over - none got into the workings which I did only think about as I was merrily splodging 2 bottles of ink on at the same time looking all Masterchef-like (in my head anyway!) So DS is again safely tucked away in my desk drawer.

Still Pink.

What do you think?

Decoupage it?

;)

  2. In case you are wondering who the hell Eda is, it's me - or rather my boss. Forgot myself and posted a comment without checking who I was signed in as! LOL

Told you it was Henry, didn't I?! Ooooh what a twisty turny ending though! When she woke up in that bed towards the end I thought they were going to do a "Dallas" and it would turn out to have been a dream. I was all set to chuck the TV out the window!

You can buy skins for them - I have one on my phone and laptop and they don't damage the surface ;)

  13. What's wrong with Sharpie Markers? The can be unbelieveably fun and give you a personalized 'skin'! Once other's see your's they will want one immediately! I'd do big white or yellow or tourquiose daisies with pink centers, then fill in everything all black!

  14. Noticed your Alice avatar on UKScrappers..I love listening to him on Planet Rock of a morning. Dont give up on alcohol inks..they are great on embosssed foil tape and acetate with staz-on stamped on the other side

  17. Hmmmm, well I love pink so I'm no real help here. lol But I would go the rhinestone route myself. lol I love my DS and bought a skin for it.

  18. LOL. This is awesome and so utterly fearless of you. You rock! That said, the result was pink and purple... which in my opinion is a wee bit worse then pink. Did you ever decoupage it? I personally recommend getting a skin for it - but I'm not near so brave. LOL.

Loved this post. You always make me smile.
