Dotty Divas Ad Challenge

Have you see the Dotty Divas Challenge yet? There is a very cool prize for the winner.
This is my interpretation of the advert they used:
I forgot how hard it is to take pictures of a scrapbook page. Especially when you have to do it in a windy backyard because your house is so dark ;)

I used:
  • Lace CS as a mask for the painted background.
  • Coredinations to mat the photos
  • Papermania bling corner thing
  • Ribbon
  •  Black 7Gypsies tape
To be honest I look at it one minute and think it's ok, I look at it another minute and I think it's missing something. I like the ribbon swirls. I love the photos matted on to the Coredination CS - first time I've used that. Love it. But not totally sure they go together. I think I definitely went over the top with the paint. *sigh*

Remember what I said the other day about discovering my style? Maybe I should loosen up about my scrapbooking and try to transfer my altering style to my pages. I don't get at all stressed when I am altering but am ripping my hair out when I am scrapping and there is not one page in my album I can say totally without a doubt "I'm happy with that."
Hurrumph!

Thanks for stopping by :)

  1. Oh it's great..love the paint..what a fab idea. All I would have done differently is to group or line the little photos together to adhere to 'continuance' but that's because unlike you, I can't sleep if I break a rule. Snigger!

  4. I know exactly what you mean about going witht he flow on altered projects, I can do that...when it comes to scrapping I just don't seem to have a clue...so much s i have only ever done 3-4 layouts, and only small ones at that. I just don't like them, don't feel comfy doing them and have no idea what my scrapping style is..or if I have one hahahaha

    ah well, onward and upward

  5. I LOVE your LO ...colour, photos journalling etc etc all work SO well and as for the ribbons ...inspired. I bet you needed patiece to stick them down.
I am resigned to the fact that my style is simplicity ... 90% of the time.I used to be dissatisfied but now I'm coming to terms with it.

  7. Carmen, can you send me your email again. I can't find the post you put it on. Then I will send you the information Nymeth sent me to make my blog roll. The code needs to be put into a blog list. It is quite time consuming, as I couldn't work out how to cut and paste all my blogs on Google Reader at the same time into the blog list. You may be more technically minded than me.

  9. I think it's great - I love all the different swirls. The whole effect is very striking.

I know just what you mean about finding it stressful.. I am always a bit anxious when making a LO, 12x12 in particular. I'm rarely fully happy with my efforts. Wish I could just fling stuff at the page and have it look amazing every time!
